Made by one person, on purpose.

Observatory is built by one independent developer in Sydney, Australia, who works in data by day. It exists because the focus apps I tried kept telling me things that weren't true: padded totals, streaks that punished a day off, insights that read like horoscopes.

The rule for Observatory is simple. Every number comes from your real sessions, drifts and pauses never count, and when there isn't enough data to say something, the app says so. It should feel like a calm companion that's on your side, not a scoreboard.

What's next

Planned, not yet shipped: personalised predictions built on your own session data, and later, correlation with sleep and activity from Apple Health. Each will be written up here as it lands, and the changelog records exactly what's in each version.
